Love and Marriage Welcome Inn style.... Its all sooo clear now. My mama would also love to say, "Love is temporary insanity curable by marriage." I am here to tell you it is true, with age and maturity comes wisdom. Aunt Fatmire fondly remembers a special moment she shared with her hubby Bujar:
Chef Al Limani of the Elizabeth Welcome Inn is from Macedonia and his great uncle Bujar and his wife aunt Fatmire still live there. Bujar and Fatmire are Al's role models in the "art" of love and marriage and at Al's request they have agreed to "spread the wealth" of their sageness for our website visitors

Aunt Fatmire observation about marriage and relationships.
My mama would always say "Behind every successful man stands a surprised mother-in-law". I now know what she was getting at!
After an acquaintance of ten minutes, many women will exchange confidences that a man would not reveal to a lifelong friend.
After a quarrel a few years ago my Bujar said to me, "You know, I was a fool when I married you." I replied, "Yes, dear, but I was in love and didn't notice." Diplomacy like this is important in any successful marriage.

Uncle Bujar on marriage & relationships:
I recently read that love is entirely a matter of chemistry. That must be why my "Fatty" treats me like toxic waste.
<>
I guess my PaPa was right when he told me, "Man is better off than woman; he marries later and dies sooner"
<>
My lovely Fatmire and I were happy for 20 years - then fate took an ugly turn and we met.
<>
For those of you young single men I offer this bit of advice. I have given this a lot of thought and I think the most happy marriage I can picture would be the union of a deaf man to a blind woman.
Uncle Bujar on longevity:
Some people ask the secret of our long marriage. Its not really a secret. Its taking the time to show your partner that you care about her happiness. We do this by taking the time to go to a restaurant two times a week. a little candlelight, dinner, soft music and dancing. She goes Tuesdays, I go Fridays."

From time-to-time Bujar and Fatmire will weigh-in on their philosophy of love and how they have stayed together for so many years. If you find value in their sage advice please come back often to see if we have heard from the our Macedonia love connection.
